ME: How long have you had your blog and what inspired you to become an influencer?
RACHEL:
Ever since 9th grade I dreamed of one day working in fashion. But it turns out I met the love of my life when I was in only 11th. He moved weeks after we started dating across the country so we did the long distance thing for a year and a half until I left UW-Milwaukee for love. Long story short we found ourselves pregnant soon after the move which changed things. Fast forward 5 years and I discovered fashion blogs which to me was the next best thing than actually having job in fashion. It was a way to still play with fashion but for fun instead of money. At the time I had no idea I could make money from this or that I even was an influencer.
ME: How would you describe your writing style and blog theme?
RACHEL:
I write the way I talk, so it's very personal and casual. Sometimes I try to add in some humor but I'm really not very naturally funny. I wish I were but Chandler is hilarious enough for the both of us.
ME: How would you describe your personal style?
RACHEL:
I am so in love with all things bohemian, gypsy, 70's and Southwestern but I usually call my style Boho-Chic.
ME: Being in Elle's Inner Circle is an amazing influencer accomplishment! What does the job entail and what was the selection process like?
RACHEL:
The ELLE Inner Circle is actually a platform for anyone to join who loves ELLE magazine. Now they have something called ELLE Social Club where members from the Inner Circle applied for one of 100 spots and I was chosen. Applications opened at the end of April and 2 months later I received an email that I was hand selected as one of the most influential members of the ELLE Inner Circle. The program is just getting started but it will entail getting first dibs on samples and giveaways, collabs with brands, a chance to be featured in the magazine and more. I am very excited and can not wait to see what's in store!
ME: Describe a typical day in the life of Rachel.
RACHEL:
I am a huge procrastinator (which is something I'm working on!) so I do spend a lot of time playing catch up. I am also not a morning person, another thing I am working on though coffee helps! That being said I spend a lot of time on my phone and laptop working on everything that goes into the blog and social media channels. For my "me time" Chandler and I watch our/ my favorite shows.
